GREAT NEWS for the Sharks!
We are pleased to announce that Pebble Creek Swim Club and the Pebble Creek Half Mile Sharks have agreed to modify their respective initial plans for the upcoming swim season in manners that both parties believe will allow their partnership to flourish next summer and for years to come.
PCSC members may recall that PCSC announced on January 22 that it would host the morning PCHM practices from 9-11 a.m. Monday-Thursday during the swim season. Members likely also recall that in past years, PCHM practiced from 4-6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday during the swim season.
Following extensive, constructive discussions between PCSC and the PCHM board of directors, however, the parties are delighted to announce that PCSC will host PCHM's morning practices as originally announced and will also host PCHM practices from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.
PCSC believes that scheduling PCHM's customary second set of practices later in the day will resolve the overcrowding and safety concerns expressed by some members that resulted from members' and PCHM's use of the pool simultaneously during peak afternoon hours. Further, both parties agree that PCHM cannot continue without a second set of practices Monday-Wednesday, as each of its competitors and virtually every competitive swim team in Greenville County practices twice on those days during the season.
Both parties cherish their relationship and all that it has meant to generations of children in our community. And both parties believe this agreement will enable them to enhance that relationship while respecting the needs and desires of PCSC's non-PCHM members.
Non-PCSC members who have questions about this matter are welcome to contact Sara Hinson at [email protected].
PCSC members whose child or children are members of the PCHM team who have questions about this matter are welcome to contact Ms. Hinson or John Sulau of the PCHM board of directors at [email protected].
Thanks very much, and we look forward to an exciting summer!
Fins Up,
The PCHM Swim Team Board
