State of the Shark

Hey, Sharks!

Now that swim team registration is officially closed, we have several important updates to share with you. This is your first taste of the info-packed emails you'll be receiving throughout the season. Thanks in advance for reading closely.

Parent Pre-Season Meeting – Sunday, April 27 at 2:00 PM
We will hold an online meeting for parents where you can meet the coaches and hear from a few of our board members about the upcoming season. We will send out the meeting link soon.

Practice Begins – Tuesday, May 6
Before school is out, practice times will be as follows:

  • 10 & Under: 5:00 to 6:00 PM
  • 11 & Up: 6:00 to 7:00 PM
  • Days: Monday through Thursday
  • Location: Pebble Creek Swim Club, 103 Pebble Creek Dr in Taylors

Evaluations for younger swimmers will take place throughout the first week of practice.

Please remember: swimmers must be able to swim a full lap unassisted to remain at the Sharks level. If a swimmer is not quite ready, coaches will place them in our Guppies program for skill-building.

If your swimmer is currently registered for Guppies but you think they may be ready for the Sharks team, feel free to bring them to practice May 6 through 8 for an evaluation.

Big Sharks / Little Sharks
One of the most exciting parts of our season is the Big Sharks / Little Sharks buddy program. Older and younger swimmers will be paired to exchange small gifts and cheer each other on.

We are keeping it simple this year: no themed meets, just a general gift suggestion list. If your swimmer plans to miss more than two meets, please do not sign up for this program.

Meet Schedule and Calendar Sync
Our full meet schedule and important dates are now available on the team website.

Team Suits
Team suits are available now at Alpine Ski Center. Stop by to try them on. This is year one of a two-year suit, so it will be the same style next season.

  • Sharks-level swimmers: Team suits are required for meets
  • Guppies: Team suits are not required unless your swimmer moves up to Sharks. The Guppy meet does not require a team suit
  • Deadline to order from Alpine: Saturday, April 26
