🦈 Foxcroft Meet, Summer Practice Schedule, & More!

Hey, Sharks!

Get excited about our second home meet! We’ll be heading to Foxcroft, Coach Lauren’s home pool. We’re planning for everyone to swim their fastest and be on their very best behavior so we can make Coach Lauren extra proud.

Practice

Our summer practice schedule begins tomorrow! All practices will be held at the Pebble Creek Swim Club.

  • 8:30-9:00 a.m.: Guppies (Mon-Thurs)
  • 9:00-10:00 a.m.: 10 & Under (Mon-Thurs)
  • 10:00-11:00 a.m.: 11 & Up (Mon-Thurs)
  • 6:00-6:45 p.m.: 10 & Under (Mon-Wed)
  • 6:45-7:30 p.m.: 11 & Up (Mon-Wed)

Please note: There will be no Thursday evening practices due to meets.

Ribbons and Donuts will be on Fridays at 9 a.m. at the Pebble Creek Swim Club.

Coach Max’s Small Groups

Back by popular demand, Coach Max will begin working with small groups again this week!

These clinics are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If your swimmer signs up for a clinic, they cannot participate in another clinic that week or the following week to make sure everyone has a fair opportunity to participate.

This week, the only openings still available are for Open Turns for 11 & Up from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. Please visit the SignUpGenius page for more information.

These clinics are included at no additional cost as part of your swim team experience. Thank you, Coach Max, for pouring into our swimmers!

Meet Location

Foxcroft Pool is located at 2 Foxcroft Rd., Greenville, SC 29615.

Meet Times

  • Swimmers Arrive: 4:15 p.m.
  • Our Warm-Ups: 4:45-5:15 p.m.
  • Volunteer Meetings: 5:10 p.m.
  • Meet Start: 5:30 p.m.

Parking

The entire pool parking lot is reserved for the visiting team — that’s us!

When the lot fills up, please drop off swimmers first and then park along one side of the neighborhood roads. Foxcroft also tries to free up surrounding streets for guest parking. As always, please obey all “No Parking” signs and do not block driveways.

Swimmer Area

Our team area will be on the field behind the pool, and we’ll place team tents in the middle of the field. You are welcome to bring your own tents, too, as there will be very little shade in the middle of the field. Consider including bug spray in your swimmers' bags since they'll be sitting in a grassy area.

Foxcroft has a gate that leads directly from the field to Clerk of Course area.

One Important Field Reminder

Foxcroft asks swimmers not to play on the playground during meets. As tempting as it is, supervising so many children at once is difficult, and we want to avoid injuries during the meet.

Swimmer Times

As mentioned in our last email, the Foxcroft pool is 25 yards rather than 25 meters. That means swimmers will likely have noticeably faster times than usual.

The meet software will convert the times appropriately, but these times will not be directly comparable to previous best times.

Volunteers

First-half officials and timers should meet behind the dive blocks at 5:10 p.m.

We understand this is slightly earlier than usual, but Foxcroft is implementing Time Drops for the first time and wants to make sure everyone understands the process, conduct a trial run, and make adjustments as needed.

Volunteer check-in tables will be located immediately inside the pool gate.

Concessions

Concessions will be available with drinks, snacks, and dinner items. Dinner items include Chick-fil-A and Marco’s Pizza. They do accept credit cards.

Spectators

Spectators are allowed on deck; however, due to limited space, Foxcroft asks that chairs on deck be reserved primarily for grandparents and guests with limited mobility.

Families are encouraged to set up chairs and tents on the field outside the pool and can enter the deck through the shelter to watch races. To help keep traffic flowing safely, they try to maintain standing-room-only conditions on deck whenever possible.

Severe Weather Plan

In the event of severe weather, Foxcroft will follow SAIL’s Severe Weather Policy.

If the deck is cleared, all visiting team families will be asked to return to their cars while the home team waits in the clubhouse. DO NOT LEAVE!

Make sure you have the SwimTopia app downloaded with notifications enabled so you can receive alerts about when to return to the pool deck. Use the same email and password you created during swim team registration to log into the app.

Scratches

If your swimmer has been declared for the meet but is unable to attend, please text Debby DeRosa at 864-423-2043.

That’s it for now! Enjoy your Memorial Day, get some rest, and be ready to swim tomorrow.
