🦈 Divisionals Heat Sheets & Final Reminders
Hey, Sharks!
The Divisionals heat sheets, as well as a report of events by swimmers, are attached!
Event Assignments
Some of you may notice that your swimmer is entered in events that are different from the ones you selected.
If you followed our instructions for reviewing the SAIL rankings on the Greenville Journal site, your event selections were a great starting point. Before entries were finalized, however, our coaches reviewed the entire meet and made adjustments where needed. They may have moved swimmers into higher-scoring events or filled events where our team needed additional swimmers.
These decisions are made with one goal in mind: earning the most possible points for the Sharks. This has been our team's approach for many years, and it's one of the ways we compete as a team. We realize we didn't explain this process in advance, and we apologize for any confusion.
SAIL swimming is truly a team sport. Success isn't just about individual performances — it's about everyone working together to help the team.
If your swimmer is disappointed about an event assignment, we hope you'll remind them how much we appreciate their willingness to do what's best for the team.
Please do not scratch events unless it is absolutely necessary. Scratching hurts the team, and under SAIL rules, a swimmer who scratches one event is scratched from the entire meet. If your swimmer becomes sick or has an emergency on meet day, please find one of the coaches as soon as possible. They can explain the process for declaring a false start if needed.
Divisionals Volunteers
Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer! The volunteer sign-up is now closed since assignments have been reported to the home team.
If something comes up that affects your ability to volunteer, or if you have any questions, contact Laura Fee at 310-387-9065.
Pizza Pump Up Tonight!
We can't wait to celebrate with everyone tonight at Pizza Pump Up and get our Sharks excited for Divisionals!
A huge thank you to Hilary Dobson for all of her hard work planning this event and to Jeff Dobson for putting together our team video. We can't wait to see it!
We could still use:
- A few pre-chilled drinks
- A couple of volunteers who can arrive at Wade Hampton High School at 3:30 p.m. to help with setup
If you're able to help, please click "Job Signup" in the Pizza Pump Up event on our Signup Page.
Also, below is the map of where to park tonight.
No More Practices!!!
This morning was our last regular practice of the season! There will be NO practice tonight because of Pizza Pump Up, and no practice tomorrow, so that our swimmers can get plenty of rest before Divisionals.
See you tonight!
