🦈 Swim for Matt. Give for Hope.
Hi, Sharks!
As you may know from Saturday's email, tomorrow's meet will be dedicated to the memory of Matt Huey, a beloved member of our Sharks family who passed away in September 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Since joining the Sharks in 2021, the Huey family has been an important part of our community. Matt was the kind of person who stepped in wherever help was needed. Whether he was installing starting blocks, serving as a tent parent, or volunteering as a Stroke and Turn judge, he gave generously of his time and energy. His kindness, generosity, and servant's heart touched so many lives and helped make our team what it is today.
In Matt's honor, we are supporting the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The foundation advances groundbreaking research, provides resources and support for patients and families, and works tirelessly toward a future free from pancreatic cancer.
We give because we never want another family to experience the heartbreak the Huey family has endured. We give to support everyone facing this difficult diagnosis. Most of all, we give with hope: for earlier detection, more effective treatments, better outcomes, and, one day, a cure.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Sharks community, we have already raised $450 in Matt's memory.
If you would like to make a gift, you can donate through our team's fundraising page with the Hirshberg Foundation. Every tax-deductible contribution goes directly to support this meaningful work.
Thank you for helping us honor Matt's legacy of service, compassion, and generosity.
In gratitude,
The PCHM Swim Team Board
